This Facebook group has been created to track Stolen Bikes in Iowa.
Originally the group was created to track stolen bicycles in Des Moines. The group has recently been expanded to the entire state.
"The Facebook group is the perfect venue" says Scott Sumpter of BIKEIOWA.com "Users can post photos of stolen bicycles and leads and get the information out to hundreds of like-minded cyclists in a matter of minutes"
Group creator Steve Fuller says "Unfortunately, there's a need for this group."
Several bicycle has been posted over the last few months, and a few bicycle have been recovered from leads posted to the group.
This post also serves as a reminder to everyone out there to record their serial numbers, take detailed photos of your bicycles and keep receipts. Make sure you know unique details about your bicycle that "makes it yours".
