Bickel’s was recently presented Trek Bicycle Corporation’s 2014 Game Changer Award! This is in recognition of our business partnering with Trek as a continued supporter of multiple cycling advocacy efforts, including ongoing improvement of trails we ride as well as overall efforts to make the cities we live in a better place for cycling & recreational activities.
A few years ago,Trek launched their 1 World, 2 Wheels Campaign that continues today. The format is simple. When Trek ships a full-suspension bike to an authorized retailer (like Bickel’s), they hold $10 per bike. And when Trek ships a Bontrager helmet, they hold $1 per helmet. Then at the end of each year,Trek takes this money and donates it to the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) and theLeague of American Bicyclists. Both of these nonprofit organizations have since experienced significant growth per these monetary donations and have an ever-growing, formidable presence and voice in federal & state transportation projects.
