Engineering firm hired for Phase 2 of Black Hawk Trail in Lake View

Lake View, Iowa -- The city of Lake View has approved a contract with engineering firm Veenstra & Kimm of West Des Moines. The firm will perform preparation planning for Phase 2 of the Black Hawk Lake Trail System and oversee inspections of construction once it begins. City Clerk, Scott Peterson describes the planned trail path.

The second phase for the Black Hawk Trail system heads south on Ice House Point then turns east heading around the lake. A section of trail will run through land which is controlled by the DNR and the engineering firm will need to execute agreements and gain clearance for the trail project. The firm was hired at a cost of $51,450.
