LENOX, Iowa —Authorities continue to investigate a fatal crash involving a car and bicycle Saturday.

The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office said Jessica Brown, 33, of Lenox, was driving down County Road J 13 east of Vail Avenue near Lenox when she struck something with her car that disabled the car about 9:15 a.m.

Witnesses who assisted Brown after her car became immobilized told authorities Brown believed she hit a deer and attempted to locate the animal without any success.

On Sunday at 8:54 a.m., Gerald Williams, 58, of Lenox, was reported missing.

Crews from the Lenox Fire Department, Taylor County EMS, Lenox Police Department and Taylor County Sheriff’s Office searched for Williams.

Authorities said Williams was found at 9:37 a.m. between Vail and Winchester avenues on road J 13. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the State Medical Examiner.

The Iowa State Patrol and Lenox Police Department are investigating the crash.
