Brandt wins Iowa Cup Series Road Race

Clear Lake USCF Sanctioned Iowa Cup Series Road Race hosted by North Iowa Trails Association Gregg Brandt won the men’s Pro/1/2 bicycle 82-mile road race on Sunday. On the women’s side, Annie Meyer won. Area racer Mike Campbell finished second in the Category 5 road race. “It was a great weekend,” race Director Tim Putnam said. “We’ll try to kick it up a notch again next year.” The criterium and road races brought in 275 riders this year compared to 50 when the event first started. “I’ll take what we got, no complaints,” Putnam said. “Clear Lake knows how to do weekends.” ROAD RACE (MEN) Pro-1-2 — Gregg Brandt (Kenda 5 Hour Energy), Adam Koble (Plano Athletic Cycling Club, Nick Frey, (Jamis/Sutter Home).
