High Trestle Trail Grand Celebration - April 30, 2011

You've no doubt heard about the High Trestle Trail Bridge and the celebration going on this weekend. If the weather holds out, there should be thousands of people along the 25-mile trail that connects five communities and four counties. The High Trestle Trail is part of the 670-mile trail system connecting Des Moines and Central Iowa. Look for unique giveaways at some of the stops along the trail. We are going rain or shine. Cabins for Rent along Raccoon River Trail trail near Dawson

This is one of the coolest things to come across BIKEIOWA in awhile. For $30-$50 per night you can rent a small cabin with many amenities a block off the trail. I love the fact that communities are seeing the benefit of the trails and YOU the trail user. Make a reservation for that special day/weekend now. Ride Of Silence

Mark your calendars May 18th at 7:00pm. We've had an extraordinary year in terms of the numbers of Iowa cyclists being injured or killed in 2010/2011 as compared to previous years. A "good" year is NOT an excuse not to ride in honor of those who have been injured or killed this year and in years past. The Ride of Silence is a silent slow-paced ride on May 18th at 7:00pm in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on America's public roadways. BIKEIOWA Cycling Caps

Coming in Early May. BIKEIOWA will have some kickin' lightweight mesh cycling caps available. We got a test cap and loved it! We'll sell them on the site and keep a small supply with us when we are out and about. You can get caps and some new women's t-shirts at the Wheels-n-Heels event on May 10. Our very good friends Q7 will be there too with some of there new line-ups. See ya there.
