The 26-mile Heritage Trail is open after summer flooding forced its closure earlier this summer. The temporary repairs on the trail have been completed allowing the trail to be fully open (Dubuque to Dyersville) on Friday. Dubuque County Conservation Board will continue to make repairs on the trail. "As we do so, small sections will be closed in order to conduct the maintenance in a safe manner," said Brian Preston, conservation board executive director. "When the smaller sections are closed, we will be advising the public of the closures." Individuals with questions about the trail should call the Swiss Valley Nature Center at 563-556-6745.
