Sioux City, IA National recording artist Smashmouth will open the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) when the event begins its 38th ride out of host community Sioux City. The outdoor show starts at 7 p.m. July 24 on Historic Fourth Street in downtown Sioux City. Smashmouth is known for two No. 1 hits, "Walkin' on the Sun" and "All Star," as well as "Can’t Get Enough Of You Baby" and a cover of The Monkees classic "I’m a Believer," which was prominently featured on the "Shrek" movie soundtrack. Sioux City Rockestra will open for Smashmouth. Tickets for the concert are $10. Paid RAGBRAI participants will be admitted for free. Tickets go on sale at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Tyson Events Center Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, online at Ticketmaster.com, or by calling (800) 745-3000. Ticketbuyers at the Tyson Events Center Box Office will receive an official Sioux City RAGBRAI T-shirt for only $5. Sioux City served as the starting location for RAGBRAI the first time the ride was held 38 years ago. RAGBRAI is the largest and oldest bike touring event in the nation, and is expected to draw more than 20,000 overnight visitors this summer.
