There are 2 new products for sale on BIKEIOWA and I'm excited to say that they are SOLAR POWERED! BIKEIOWA has teamed up with Iowa Thin Film Technologies to offer a lighweight rollable solar panel AND a Solar Rechargeable AM/FM Headset Radio Iowa Thin Film Technologies is located in Ames, Iowa and they have developed the world’s first thin film amorphous silicon transistor on a plastic substrate using a true roll-to-roll manufacturing process. OK.. this means a lightweight durable solar panel that is flexible and very efficient. This is the same technology that helps power the solar powered cars that you have recently read about in the news. For those of you who know me, I always like to carry a stereo on the bike, and this year I had a chance to test out these pansl on RAGBRAI XXXI. Find out how the panels worked.
