HAMPTON, IA A proposed 32-mile trail linking two northern Iowa counties has received a $750,000 grant from the Iowa Transportation Commission. The grant for the Rolling Prairie Trial, which would link Franklin and Butler counties with a 32-mile trail, was announced on Tuesday. Local officials want the trail to be used for biking, walking, horseback riding and snowmobiling. When it is complete, it go through Coulter, Hampton, Hansell, Dumont, Bristow and Allison. A branch will also lead to Beeds Lake State Park. Once the trail is complete, it will link with another trail that goes from Allison to Shell Rock.
