By DICK JOHNSON dick.johnson@globegazette.com MASON CITY — The Winnebago River Trail Bridge will be dedicated at noon on Memorial Day (Monday, May 26), Park and Recreation Board members agreed Tuesday. The 220-foot bridge spans the river from the deer pen in East Park to the Mason City Family Aquatic Center. It connects a bicycle trail from East Park to the Aquatic Center, allowing cyclists and pedestrians to avoid busy North Carolina and Kentucky avenues. The trail will eventually extend through the Margaret MacNider Campground to Birch Drive and out to North Iowa Area Community College.
