Cyclists to visit UI Children’s Hospital Sept. 10

Bicycle riders on the fourth Ace Hardware Foundation Tour de Kids event will visit patients and their families at University of Iowa Children’s Hospital during the first segment of their trip at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, in Iowa City.
More than 50 cyclists will ride 1,100 miles in three legs from Chicago, Ill. to Denver, Colo. to raise money for UI Children’s Hospital through Children’s Miracle Network.
Organizers plan to donate the proceeds of their effort to children’s hospitals across the nation, including $5,000 to UI Children’s Hospital.
UI Children’s Hospital serves children and their families at its main campus in Iowa City and satellite clinics in communities throughout the region. A 180-bed "hospital within a hospital," UI Children’s Hospital benefits from the sophisticated services and comprehensive resources of UI Hospitals and Clinics. Child magazine ranks UI Children’s Hospital among the top 20 children’s hospitals in the nation.
Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, Children’s Miracle Network is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to gen-erating funds and awareness programs to benefit children treated at 170 children’s hospitals throughout the United States and Canada. Children’s Miracle Network also includes 75 corporate sponsors, 200 television stations and more than 135 radio stations.
