Hampton man arrested in assault of RAGBRAI rider

HAMPTON — A RAGBRAI rider from New York State was listed in fair condition today at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, following an assault Tuesday night in Hampton.
Todd O’Hara, 38, was assaulted at about 10:43 p.m. in the 00 block of Third Avenue Northwest, the Hampton police reported.
He was taken to Franklin General Hospital, then air-flighted to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.
Michael Allen Cabrera, 27, of Hampton, was arrested and charged with willful injury, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
He is being held in the Hardin County Jail on $30,000 bond.
