Events Planned Will Give A Rise To All Participants San Francisco, CA -- February 14, 2002 -- Good Vibrations, the legendary San Francisco-based, women-owned and operated sex toy, book and video store announces the events scheduled for the 7th Annual National Masturbation Month this May. Throughout the month, Good Vibrations will feature a diverse line-up of activities to educate and excite people about the healthy practice of self-gratification. National Masturbation Month Highlights: One Handed Reading. Celebrating the time-honored relationship between solo pleasure and the written word, National Masturbation Month kicks off on Thursday, May 2 with the "One Handed Reading". This event will feature several of the Bay Area's hottest erotica writers including Cara Bruce, Carol Queen, M. Christian and Simon Sheppard. From the smutty to the sublime, these erotic tales read by the writers who love them is sure to keep your hand(s) busy through the end of May. The reading will be hosted by Thomas S. Roche and held at the Good Vibrations store on San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley. Dildo Decorating Night and Contest. Martha, eat your heart out! The queen of crafts isn't the only one who knows how to adorn accessories with glitter, rhinestones and a glue gun. Good Vibrations will open their doors after hours to anyone who wants to express their creativity in a most unusual way. The GV Dildo Decorating Night is the first of its kind. Bring a friend or come solo! All dildos will be displayed in the Good Vibrations Berkeley store throughout the month of May. Dildos provided by Vixen Creations, sequins, glitter, feathers, ribbons, pipe cleaners and Popsicle sticks provided by General Bead. Wednesday, May 8 from 8 pm -10 pm at the Good Vibrations San Francisco store (1210 Valencia Street). Admission: Free! "Come For A Cause" Masturbate-a-thon. Masturbation Month also means the launch of the internationally loved and renowned "Come for a Cause" Masturbate-a-thon. Back by popular demand, this is Good Vibrations 4th annual marathon of self-lovin'. Participants are encouraged to recruit their friends and co-workers to sponsor them for every minute they spend masturbating during National Masturbation Weekend, Friday, May 17 through Sunday, May 19.
