Iowa cyclists to compete in Puerto Rico

August 2, 2006 Four bicycle racers with Iowa connections will compete in the El Coqui Dorado Stage Race in Puerto Rico on Aug. 18-20. Members of the All9Yards.com team who will race are Chad Vandelune of Des Moines, Lane Anderson of Altoona, Ralph Henderson of Denver, formerly of Decorah, and Terry Beenken of Mankato, Minn., formerly of Algona. The race in Puerto Rico is for professional racers from North and South America. "Vandelune is a seasoned sprinter and has a great nose for positioning to hit the finish line at full speed to take the win," Anderson said in a news release. "We're hoping to work well together to make sure that he has the opportunity to win a stage while we're down there."
