Boone County - The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a cyclist on a county road near Ogden Thursday. 51-year old William Perrier of Madrid died after he was hit by a grain truck around 9 a.m. Police say he and the truck collided at the intersection of L Avenue and 300th Street. The sheriff's office says the driver of the grain truck, 51-year old Walter Smeltzer, a farmer who lives nearby, didn't come to a complete stop at a stop sign at the intersection. The Iowa State Patrol says charges against Smeltzer are pending. Previous news
