The 52nd edition of RAGBRAI is set to kick off later this summer, with Orange City as the starting location.
In the past Orange City was a pass-through town in various years, but this year they will mark the beginning of the long ride across the state. This is the second time Orange City will start the ride, the first time was back in 2017. The route that year went from Orange City to Spencer, Algona, Clear Lake, Charles City, Cresco, Waukon, and ending in Lansing.
Eight years later the city now prepares to host thousands of riders in one of Iowa’s staple events, and city officials say it takes an army to make hosting RAGBRAI a possibility and run smoothly. Because of that, the Orange City Chamber of Commerce is already hard at work.
