Today, I walked the 7.9-mile Clive Greenbelt Trail beginning at Lion's Park, taking a crazy detour due to the I-80 underpass being closed, and ending the trail after Colby Park near 63rd St. in Des Moines before turning around and walking back. With the added miles of the Walnut Creek Trail and the detours, it ended up being a 24-mile day. It was a nice trail except for the closure which will continue through 2025. Clive is a beautiful suburb of Des Moines, and I saw many big, beautiful houses. This was the 8th Rails to Trails Iowa trail that I have completed so far. Only 21 more to go. For more information, please visit https://www.railstotrails.org/ or download the Trail Link app. The Trail Link app was extremely useful on this walk due to the detours I had to take. Also, please consider becoming a member of the Rails to Trails Conservancy; their hard work keeps the trails maintained for our use.
