The Burlington Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Greater Burlington Partnership have announced the RAGBRAI organizing committee will distribute funds throughout the community.
According to a news release, welcoming thousands of RAGBRAI riders to the Burlington area was a community-wide effort.
From volunteers on the organizing committee to volunteers on event day, from the guidance and support from the City of Burlington, and assistance from the City of West Burlington, to the generous help of numerous local businesses and nonprofit organizations, rolling out the red carpet for RAGBRAI visitors.
In exchange for their efforts in supporting this effort, the RAGBRAI organizing committee has chosen to share proceeds from the event with the City of Burlington (Fire and Police Departments), Harmony Bible Church, Burlington Community School District, and West Burlington Independent School District.
Additionally, the RAGBRAI organizing committee is contributing $15,000 in proceeds to the City of Burlington to support the funding of trail signage in Greater Burlington, as well as contributing $10,000 toward a public art project.
The first check presentations are scheduled for Monday, October 28th.
