Tyler Weig - Over the Rockies for Cancer and coming to Iowa

Tyler Weig began his astounding journey across America nearly a month ago. Alone, on a bicycle, raising cancer awareness, the 22-year-old Iowa State University graduate left Florence, Ore., on his 4,000-mile trip. Word has arrived that the Oelwein native - who did no special training for his ride - made it through the Rockies just fine. Now, he's headed for Iowa and a mid-journey celebration. Weig will be the main attraction at a free outdoor barbecue Tuesday at the American Cancer Society, 8364 Hickman Road in Clive. Then he'll be off again, on schedule, planning for a July 24 arrival in Virginia Beach, Va.
