There are all kinds of groups who ride the trails in Eastern Iowa.
Leah Fuller started the mountain biking group Fearless Women of Dirt, and FWD has really grown.
I started the charter to get more women involved, a lot of beginning riders and girlfriends and wives of guys who ride,” said Fuller.
Fuller has fallen in love with mountain biking.
You have to focus so hard on everything that’s going on so you don’t crash and wipe out, so you just tune out everything else that is going on in your life,” Fuller said. “So for an hour or two hours, it is just an escape. Just being out of nature is calming, and relaxing, and I just love it.”
The Linn Area Mountain Biking Association known as LAMBA has developed some really good trails in Cedar Rapids. Something for everybody, including the daredevils.
“My favorite trail out here or in the city is probably Beverly Park with the gravity zone,” said biker and LAMBA member Logan Anton.
LAMBA has worked really hard to build these trails after the 2020 derecho hit.
