An annual bike ride in Iowa City focused on honoring a man who devoted much of his life to improving biking and growing the sport.
Robert A. Oppliger, Ph.D. of Iowa City, Iowa, 78, died peacefully on December 21, 2023.
Bob served as a Board Member of both the League of American Bicyclists and the Bicyclists of Iowa City. Dr. Oppliger had more than 50 publications, including co-writing "Teaching Your Child to Ride a Bicycle". A celebration of life is planned for Spring 2024 in Iowa City.
