WAUKEE, Iowa — A bicyclist was seriously injured early Friday afternoon after being hit by a semi.
At around 12:30 p.m. the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a semi that had hit a bicyclist at the intersection of NW 10th Street and Hickman Road.
According to police, the semi was stopped at the stoplight and began turning west onto Hickman Road when the light turned green. At the same time the bicyclist was crossing the intersection, traveling eastbound on the trail. The semi driver didn’t see the bicyclist and hit the individual.
Police said the bicyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital.
