Since RAGBRAI began in August 1973, Harper Cycling and Fitness of Muscatine has been a part of it and owner Greg Harper, owner and longtime RAGBRAI mechanic, said this year will be no different.
On Saturday, Harper said he plans to attend the RAGBRAI route announcement party in Des Moines. He said the party is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. and he believes the announcement of this year’s route for the Registers Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa will be held about 8 p.m.
“I am one of three people who have ridden parts of every RAGBRAI,” Harper said. “This will be 51, although we had one year off for COVID. I rode the first 10, then my dad rode the second 10, and we have been an official RAGBRAI repair shop since 1994. In being an official shop my main focus is repairing bikes.”
