On Thursday, August 24, at 8:21 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident involving a bicycle that occurred on Chestnut Street in Hull, IA.
Barret Bleeker, age 17, of Hull, was driving a 2011 Ford Expedition northbound on Chestnut Street. Peter Brummel, age 77, of Hull, was riding a bicycle northbound on Chestnut Street ahead of Bleeker.
Bleeker went into the southbound lane to pass Brummel as Brummel attempted to turn left onto Railroad street and the two struck.
Damage to the Ford was estimated at $2,500.
Brummel was transported by Hull Ambulance to Sioux Center Health for treatment of his injuries.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hull Fire Department and Hull Ambulance.
