Spring is HERE! It's time to plan a bicycle trip right here in Central Iowa! It's a Party for the Entire Family. June 13th and 14th are the dates. Sorry, online Registration has closed. But you can still register the day of the ride.

Things are starting to get interesting! Updated May 23rd As the Tour the Raccoon gets a little closer and the weather is finally warming up, not to mention that the gale force winds are calming down, registrations are really picking up. There is only ten more days to pre-register for the inaugural ride and three weeks to finalize preparations and training. Yes, you can register after June 1st. We will be accepting ï¿½same dayï¿½ registrations at Waukee Cycling from 6 to 10 AM Saturday morning but if you wait youï¿½ll have to pack everything in your vehicle, drive to Waukee, park your vehicle for the night, stand in line to register then start your ride. If you pre-register, you can drop your bags off at any Des Moines Bike World anytime the week before the ride, get up Saturday morning, eat a nice breakfast and begin your ride right from your own driveway. Introducing the Tour the Raccoon, a cycling tour starting from the Des Moines Metro area on Saturday, June 13th, riding down the Raccoon River Valley Trail, overnight in Jefferson Iowa then returns to Des Moines on Sunday the 14th of June. Can't take an entire week off of work for a bike tour? Are you a little nervous riding on streets? Are you looking for a cycling tour for the entire family? Need to get in shape for another, longer bike tour? Not a big fan of hills? Then this is the bike tour for you. Early sponsors for this family focused event include the Downtown YMCA, the Raccoon River Vally Trail Association, BikeWorld and Dee Zee Inc. The eight pass through towns are prepared to show you a great time! The overnight town, Jefferson, is hosting their very popular Bell Tower Festival that same weekend. So you'll have plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Your overnight bags and camping gear will be trucked via BikeWorld to our campground so you can concentrate on enjoying the great scenery of the Raccoon River Valley.
