Be like Santa and Cross for a Cause at one of the biggest winter cycling parties in the Midwest!

It’s Jinglecross Rock, two days of cyclocross racing in Iowa City at the Johnson County Fairgrounds. All ages and abilities have races just for them, even kids. Spectators are free and the events are Saturday and Sunday. MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Race web site | Race Details | Race maps | Directions | Last year's photos & video WANTED: MORE COWBELL: Seeking exuberant male and females with party attitude and multiple skill-sets to include the ability to walk up mt Krumpit to cheer the field with cowbell and beverage in hand. Must be willing to travel... (to the Johnson county Fairgrounds on November 25th and/or 26th). Must be open minded and willing to try new things (maybe even the 35 minute beginners race??). May find it awkward at first to see so many people having so much fun at the bike race. Most importantly is the ability to play cowbell aggressively invoking a dynamite sound with a unique tempo while racers pass by. If you fit this profile, we will see you at Jingle Cross! Will there be parking for RAGBRAI buses and RVs? You betcha! You'll have one of the best seats on the course! Pull 'em on up!

BIKEIOWA NOTELast year, this was the first cyclocross I participated in. I signed up for the beginner's race not really having a clue what to expect. I was less than two months off of crutches from a broken foot earlier in the summer and was not in very good shape. The race started and it took a couple of laps to get settled in. The course was crazy fun! We were led through cattle barns, over barriers and ditches, sand pits, mud, pavement, gravel and plenty of grass. Every corner there were spectators to cheer you on. After 35 minutes I finished in the middle of the pack. I didn't come close to winning, but the first-time experience was well worth it! I talked with several cyclists who saw the photos and video afterwards who couldn't believe how much fun that looked like! I hope you all are reading his now, as this is your chance to participate. Here's the deal, If this is your first cross race, and you beat me, I'll buy you a beverage! Find me after the race. No matter what, if you've debated on trying a cyclocross race, this is the event to be at! You cannot beat all the prizes, the atmosphere and the masses of spectators. Come race the early race with me, and then hang around and watch the the races for the rest of the day. A guaranteed GREAT time!
