Promoting a more sustainable environment, this Green Bike Tour will focus on the Cedar Falls, Waterloo and Waverly area.

The Iowa Policy Project, in partnership with the University of Iowa and Iowa environmental groups, will sponsor the 6th Green Bike Tour (www.greenbike.org) on Sept. 22, 2007. The goal behind the Green Bike Tour is to help the public better understand not only the cutting-edge technology at work with renewable energy, but also the public policy issues involved. We can encourage a more sustainable environment and farmers and small towns can prosper at the same time. Our tour brings together policy makers, advocates, farmers, local business owners, bicycle enthusiasts, energy producers, elected officials, presidential candidates and others to learn how everyone can address global climate change. Our route for this Green Bike Tour will focus on the Cedar Falls, Waterloo and Waverly area, with visits including the University of Northern Iowa’s Center for Energy and Environmental Education, Wartburg College and Hawkeye Community College.
