A college fund benefit gathering for the son of Dan Wisnousky is planned for Sunday November 21, 2004, to be held at:

Olde Main Brewing Co. and Restaurant 316 Main Street Ames, Iowa from 3 PM until closing. Dan Wisnousky, age 37, died recently in a farm vehicle – cyclist accident near Ames, Iowa, during an organized Bike Club ride. He leaves behind his young family of Traci (wife) and 2-year-old son, Jake Daniel. Dan was an avid cyclist and sailing enthusiast. He was a 10-year member of the Tall Dog Bike Club and Saylorville Yacht Club. He was also a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Dan loved cycling as he always attended Club rides and events including RAGBRAI every year since 1994. Dan always rode with a competitive spirit urging others to ride to the best of their abilities. He was always there to help out with events and managed the Bike Club’s Web Page on the Internet. Through his hobbies and activities, Dan made hundreds of friends who knew him as a person to count on for helping others. The Olde Main Brewing Co. and Restaurant is planning to donate a portion of their business receipts on Sunday toward the education fund. Also planned for the gathering are silent auctions for items from area businesses. Donations to the education fund can be made directly to CollegeAmerica for Jake Wisnousky. Donations may be mailed to:
CollegeAmerica c/o Larry Hanson 4900 University Avenue, Suite 225 West Des Moines, Iowa 50266
All people, bike clubs/teams, fraternity, and sailing club members are invited to attend the benefit. All club/team members are encouraged to wear their respective jerseys/shirts to show support for their organizations in which Dan was involved. It is very sad that Dan has left us at such an early age. It would be a great gesture to his legacy for his son to grow into an adult knowing of the respect all his friends had for Dan. Let’s help this young man, Jake Daniel Wisnousky, develop his future the way his father would have wanted to do himself…see you on Sunday.
