This is your chance to have some input on the new Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan for the state of Iowa. Need input by May 15th!

The Iowa Department of Transportation is developing its first Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan for the state of Iowa. This document will serve as a guide for the department to provide safe, adequate and accessible transportation routes for bicyclists and pedestrians. An overview of two key concepts related to the draft Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan is posted on the department's Web site at: www.dot.state.ia.us/draft_bike_ped_plan/index.htm. These concepts are:
  • the identification of three trail priority levels; and
  • accommodating bicycles on primary highways.
