This is a fundraising Bike Ride and Pancake feed to show our Veterans, Fallen Heroes and their families that we care and support them.  This is a once a year event and the proceeds of the event go to Local Veterans, Veterans that suffer from PTSD, Larry "The Flagman" Eckhardt and Local American Legion and Army National Guard.  We have an opening ceremony at 8:00 am and then your off to ride or eat pancakes.  The routes are challanging and there are 5 different distances you can ride.  Walkers and runners are welcome too!

There are 5 different routes people can bike, run, or walk, It’s not limited to bicycling – we just want people out there to enjoy each other, the outdoors and show our Troops and Veterans that we are behind them 100%.
All routes start from the Fire Department in Essex and include going up South Avenue to South on E Avenue then going West on 170th down to Highway 48 and back for the 12 mile route, the 20 mile route will be heading East on 170th Street to I Avenue and back. The shorter routes will have stopping points in between that will be marked.  There will be water stations and first aid stations along each route. We will have People at the end and start of the routes to warn drivers there will bikes in the area and there will also be pickup trucks standing by for bike emergencies and medical personnel on stand by as well, the routes will have signs to give you directions.
