This is a fundraising Bike Ride and Pancake feed to show our Veterans, Fallen Heroes and their families that we care and support them. This is a once a year event and the proceeds of the event go to Local Veterans, Veterans that suffer from PTSD, Larry "The Flagman" Eckhardt and Local American Legion and Army National Guard. We have an opening ceremony at 8:00 am and then your off to ride or eat pancakes. The routes are challanging and there are 5 different distances you can ride. Walkers and runners are welcome too!
Route
There are 5
different routes people can bike, run, or walk, It’s
not limited to bicycling – we just want people out there to enjoy each
other, the outdoors and show our Troops and Veterans that we are behind
them 100%.
All routes start from the Fire Department
in Essex and include going up South Avenue to South on E Avenue then going West
on 170th down to Highway 48 and back for the 12 mile route, the 20 mile
route will be heading East on 170th Street to I Avenue and back. The
shorter routes will have stopping points in between that will be marked.
There will be water stations and first aid stations along each route.
We will have People at the end and start of the routes to warn drivers
there will bikes in the area and there will also be pickup trucks
standing by for bike emergencies and medical personnel on stand by as
well, the routes will have signs to give you directions.

Registration
T-shirts are
included in the $20 entry fee to ride, eat pancakes and honor the
troops. Registrations will have to be turned in by the 22nd of April to guarantee a T-shirt.
You can pay $15 for entry fee and pancakes, without a t-shirt.
For non-participants, you can still enjoy pancakes with a free will
donation, courtesy of Essex Fire and Rescue members who always do a
tremendous job for this event every year, from 8:30 to Noon.
