Description

Mountain Biking

Distance - Trail run 2 miles, mountain bike 10 miles, trail run 2 miles

It's time for the Central Iowa Trail Association's annual Des Moines Dirty Duathlon!

Join CITA for a great day of mountain biking, trail running and hanging with the funnest people around at our Center Trails. Grab the family, grab your friends, politely escort them down to Greenwood Park and then apologize for grabbing them. But they will thank you because there’s something for everyone! Rock the Du on your own or partner up (1 runner, 1 cyclist) if you’re skeered to tackle the whole thing alone.

**100% of the proceeds will go toward upgrading the Center Trails in Spring 2015.**
CITA already has a professional plan commissioned by the City of Des Moines, and we need money and volunteers to put it in place! If you don’t want to participate in the Dirty Duathlon, we can always use volunteers – Volunteer Here.

11:00 Sprint Du - 2-mile trail run, 6-mile mountain bike
12:00 Kids Du - 1 lap run around the pond, 1 lap bike around the pond
1:00 Dirty Du - 2-mile trail run, 10-mile mountain bike, 2-mile trail run

Want to race on our amazing single-track trails but aren't ready to conquer both the run and bike? Contact CITA via Contact Us and let us know!  We will try to set you up with a perfect partner, so be sure to mention if you are a biker or runner and if you are "in it to win it" or "just along for the fun ride."

Route

Start at the grassy area by the pond.  Race in Center Trails (Hillside and Rollercoaster).

Sprint Du will do 1 lap trail run, 2 laps shortened mountain bike
Kids Du will do 1 lap run around the pond, 1 lap bike around the pond
Full Du will do 1 lap trail run, 3 laps mountain bike, 1 lap trail run
Relay Du - one person will do 1 lap trail run at beginning and end; other person will do 3 laps mountain bike

Registration

Registration is open! (Please note change of event date from 10/18/14 to 10/25/14)
$25.00 pre-registration, $35.00 day-of via check or cash
$50.00 relay pre-registration - register as one, $70.00 day-of via check or cash
Kids event is FREE and do not need to pre-register
