UPDATED 3-13-14 7:05am
  • Updated with a new map that show area that will be talked about in City Council meeting.
  • Added attachment of proposed plans to widen Booth & Washington to 25 foot and install a 10 foot wide rec trail on one side and 4 foot sidewalk, *OR* just 4 foot sidewalks on both sides.
(obviously we as cyclists will want the 10 foot wide option knowing connectivity options to connect the Neal Smith Trail with the High Trestle Trail.)
  • Attend if you want to. This is NOT as high priority as we initially thought. We think the widening project will happen and we will certainly request that the 10 foot rec trail option is selected. The actual Neal Smith Trail connection the High Trestle Trail is over a year away due to funding sources.

PLEASE Attend this public information meeting is being held this Thursday, March 13th, from 5-7 p.m. in the Community Room 309 West Van Dorn Street in Polk City.

Discussions will ensue about connecting the Neal Smith Trail and the High Trestle Trail.

As you can see only a couple of mile separate the two, and Polk City could be the hub-city that connects both trails.

Polk City is working on a street reconstruction project, and bike/trail connectors are being discussed.

Cyclists are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to attend!
