Description
Meeting
Distance - 32 to 105 miles
The Ride to Cure Diabetes is a fundraising event for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. More than 20 Iowan's will make the trip and we'll meet up with about 300 other riders in Vegas. First night in Vegas, nights 2 and 3 at the Furnace Creek Ranch in Death Valley. Fly in and out of Vegas. Course is rolling with one 6-mile 1,300 foot climb.
Route
Through Death Valley along the east ridge. Ride distances of 32,65, or 105. Everyone on Team Iowa so far is training for 105 miles. Ride speed can be what you want it, but to do the 105 miles within the time limit you'd need to average about 12 mph with stops. If you want to ride faster, there will be racers at the ride (and on Team Iowa).

If you are interested in information, it is best to come to a meeting. The latest a rider can sign is the end of July. The earlier the better so you can take part in team social and fund raising activities.
