Rosie and I are at it again. We have begun the planning for the 2nd Annual Loops for our Troops bike ride on April 27th. There will be a Pancake feed thanks to the Essex Fire and Rescue, which was a huge success last year. We will have 4 different routes with 4 different distances, riders, runners and walkers are all welcome. We are planning to have a silent auction and Nick Esser will have a barn board flag there again this year to be auctioned off! It was beautiful last year!
We're also planning ...on having the families of some of the local lost hero's, Including Cpl. Jarrod Maher, Sgt. Brent Maher, SFC. Brandon Buttry and Sgt. James Skalberg, participating and being honored this year, We want to be sure that they are NEVER FORGOTTEN!
Some of the funds that we raise this year will be donated to "Larry, The Flag Man" who does such a great job in bringing communities together when a soldier makes their final trip home. He brings a lot of pride and beauty to such a tragic situation. We feel he deserves recognition for all that he does and want to make sure that he can continue to honor these special hero's and bring the communities together.
T-shirts will be available again this year and will be included in the $20 entry fee to Ride, eat Pancakes and Honor our Troops! For those of you that do not want to ride or walk but would like to have pancakes, a T-shirt and pay tribute there will be a $15 charge. Any one is welcome to come and Join us!
