Description

Mountain Biking (RACE)

Distance - 64 Miles (100K)

The race draws about 100 competitors each year representing a complete cross section of individuals from current and pro racers (even a former Tour De France bike racer), top US cross country skiers to local recreational enthusiasts and top ultra marathon runners. There are even a couple current and former Iditarod trail racers who compete in Triple D. The race draws racers from all over including Florida, New York, Missouri, California, Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa

Route

The runners and skiers will compete for overall placement on the 23 mile route from Dyersville to Durango. They also have two additional loops that they may continue on after the offical 23 mile event to achieve bragging rights on a full winter marathon (26 miles) or a 50K ultra-marathon route. The only distance option for the bikers is an ultra marathon ride/slog of 65 horrific miles. Bikers remember, even though you know you (and possibly everyone) may not finish, ultimate overall placement is determined by who traveled the furthest distance on the official race route (with credit given for those who self sag back to either the finish line bar or the event headquarters).
