Learn the best techniques for creating and maintaining sustainable, multi-use dirt trails during the International Mountain Bicycling Association's Trailbuilding School at Lake Ahquabi State Park. IMBA's school is hosted by Central Iowa Trail Association in partnership with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and includes three hours of classroom instruction followed by discussion of construction and management challenges faced by Iowa landowners. Classroom topics define sustainable construction including designing a contour trail, controlling water flow, building effective trail structures, and routine trail maintenance.
