Charity Ride

Distance - approx 16 miles

Come one come all to a benefit ride for Vern, Janet, and Benjamin Balster. In February of this year Vern was diagnosed with multiple inoperable brain tumors. Vern is the sole income provider for the family but he has not been able to work since his diagnoses. Most know Vern as an avid biker and co-founder of Team VooDoo. He is also the grandfather of the Crabfart ride. Janet was diagnosed with breast cancer about a year ago. So their family has been hit hard. Benjamin is their adorable two year old son. There will be silent auctions, raffles, t-shirts, lip balms, koozies, sun-screen, and gift certificates for sale. All proceeds from the sale of these items will go directly to the Balster family to help with their living expenses. Items up for auction include but are not limited to 1) One weekend stay at a cabin located between Lansing and Waukon. Cabin sleeps six. 2) One night use of a party bus, driver included. Bus can be used for a night out on the town. 3) Fishing trip. Outfitted with transportation to and from, boat, poles, gear, fishing accessories. Trip can accommodate up to three people. There will be several chances to win cash and prizes through out the day and on into the night. Food and live music at JM O'Malleys.

Route

JM O'Malleys to the Shack Tavern back to JM O'Malleys. Depart JM O'Malleys taking H Avenue West to hookup with the Cedar River paved bike trail. Take trail to the Shack Tavern for an outdoor beer garden. Return to JM O'Malleys the same way. Route maps will be available.
