This ride will start from the Boat Launch parking lot along the Great River Trail in Rapids City, IL. This area of the trail is also known as "Schuler's Shady Grove". This area is located 1 mile north of the Rte 84 exit off Interstate 80 along the Mississippi River in the Quad City area.

Road

Distance - 62 or 100 mile routes

This ride is for women who enjoy road riding. Riders should plan to be self sufficient as this will be an unsupported ride (no SAG support and no Rest Stops w/FREE food). The ride starts at 7am with a mass start. Detailed cue sheets and maps will be distributed at the start. Potential food/restroom stops are indicated on the cue sheet. These are located every 12-20 miles along the route. Women should pack some basic tools to change a flat tire, 2 water bottles, a few energy bars (to supplement stops at quick marts and restaurants), sunscreen, money to by food along the route and a cell phone.

Route

Rolling Hills, especially near the Mississippi River. Lots of miles past corn and soybean fields. About 15 miles of the route is ridden on the Great River Trail; the rest is on county roads. The 100 mile route goes through the Illinois towns of: Rapids City, Port Byron, Hillsdale, Erie, Morrison, Prophetstown and Cordova.

There is no registration form for this ride. Please call or email me by Thursday July 12th if you plan to participate so I can have enough cue sheets and maps available at the start of the ride.
