RAGBRAI co-founder John Karras turns 90 years young this March. Please join us on Tuesday, March 10th from 5-7pm at Bike World in West Des Moines as we honor and celebrate John's birthday. We will have birthday cake and light refreshments for all.

We'll welcome John's family and members of the RAGBRAI team to help celebrate John's 90th birthday.

A BIT ABOUT JOHN KARRAS:
John Karras (aka Grandpa RAGBRAI) has forever changed the sport of cycling in Iowa and beyond. His crazy idea of inviting readers of The Des Moines Register to join him and fellow columnist Don Kaul in a week long ride across Iowa spawned a cycling culture that has been unbelievable. RAGBRAI has produced an enthusiasm for the sport unlike anywhere else in the United States.

This excitement for cycling has led to the extensive trail systems in Iowa that we currently enjoy, in addition to the trails we know have multiple organized rides every week during the cycling season. Another offshoot from this Karras effect has been the birthing of cycling advocates who work tirelessly on behalf of cyclists everywhere.

GIFTS FOR JOHN
The cycling community has been working hard to raise the funds for a RAGBRAI Founder's Statue. As of January, the core funding for the statues has been reached, but there is still a need for funds to ensure the maintenance of the statue for years to come.
