University of Okoboji Oktoberfest originated 28 years ago with the bike ride. Cyclists have been able to experience the Iowa Great Lakes area in all of its fun & beauty even after what most people recognize as the “summer season” for Okoboji. With the leaves changing to their breath-taking shades of colors to the glistening waters of the lakes, Okoboji is definitely the place to be this fall!

Route

Enjoy this fun bike ride along the scenic trails and lakeside roads of the Iowa Great Lakes Area. With the 28th year of the Oktoberfest Bike Ride comes a new route! The ride will begin AND end at Preservation Plaza. Terrain is mostly flat with some short rolling hills. Trails are swept prior to the ride. Click here to view the 2018 route map. You can make optional pit-stops along the route, then we will see you back in the green space of Preservation Plaza for additional games, activities, live entertainment, food, and beer. After the festivities in the greenspace, stop into your favorite participating restaurants for their great food/drink specials. You will receive your drink ticket, route map, and t-shirt at check-in.
