I'll be the first to admit.... I never even thought about wearing a set of bib shorts. Not even once.

Then, being the BikeSexual type of guy I am, I tried a few mountain bike races, then longer gravel rides/races then cyclocross really caught my attention.

Riding in normal baggy shorts works just fine most of the time while mountain biking and gravel riding. You stay on your bike most of the time, and your chamois stays in place, but cyclocross is a different story. You are off your bike almost as much as you are on the bike and it is easy to get those baggy shorts caught on the seat. Believe me, I've done it several times until I tried a set of bibs.

Now, I don't bring a knife to a gun fight and you won't see me in bibs on a casual ride. But I have seen the light. The bibs are way more comfortable over the long haul. You may feel like a ballerina the first few times, but trust me, the comfort way out weighs the funny-feelings.

You want to really feel funny ??? Try on a skinsuit... We can discuss that in another blog post.

Pactimo just came out with a Blog post that is well work the read about Why Cyclists Choose Bib Shorts...

READ IT.
