Sioux Center and Orange City leaders on behalf of the Sioux County Trails Committee came to the March 22 Sioux County Board of Supervisors meeting to propose drafting a 28E agreement that would dictate the costs and maintenance responsibilities among the partnered entities.
The proposed recreation trail would span between Orange City and Sandy Hollow Recreation Area. It would connect to the existing trail system from Sandy Hollow to Sioux Center.
Although the exact length of the trail between Sandy Hollow and Orange City depends on the final path, which is being worked out with landowners through easement agreements, it is estimated that it would travel 4½ miles. The trail from Sioux Center to Sandy Hollow is 2 miles.
