Two Knoxville police officers are being recognized for helping a boy while they were off duty.

Officers Brandon Hills and Cody Nichol say the boy had two of his bikes stolen so they bought him a new one.

The boy's mother was waiting on them at a restaurant and told the officers about the thefts.

The officers say they're just returning the kindness the community shows them.
