In three weeks, RAGBRAI rolls into Eastern Iowa.

Wednesday's ride starts in Iowa Falls and ends in Waterloo.

The next overnight stop is on July 29 in Anamosa and the small town's businesses are gearing up for a ride to remember.

"We'll be busy until the very end," said Duane Mosser, the store manager for the Giggle Juice Liquor Station.

It's a day the Anamosa community had to wait an extra 365 days for, thanks to the pandemic.

"I guess it will be kind of like a rebirth for everybody, especially RAGBRAI," said Mosser.

"We want everybody to come see the sculpture," explained Boone.

The monumental "God Bless America" sculpture inspired by Grant Wood's iconic painting, "American Gothic."

"We had it in 2018, it was a huge boost to our economy there at that time," added Boone.

She hopes enough money will be raised to keep the sculpture in Anamosa.

"This is Grant Wood country, this is where the sculpture belongs," said Boone.

So, when you ride into town, Boone suggests you to take a picture and support the many local businesses.

"We're going to do what we do best and that's sell beer and liquor to all the people that are in need of quenching their thirst," said Mosser.

Volunteers are needed in Anamosa to help prepare and pickup for the thousands of riders in town.
