Preparations are well underway for RAGBRAI 2021 in Waterloo. The city is an overnight stop for the ride this summer.
Waterloo will be the overnight stop of Day 4 of the ride, in between Iowa Falls on Day 3 and Anamosa on Day 5. Around 10,000 riders will come into Waterloo on Wednesday, July 28th, and leave on Thursday, July 29. City leaders expect the event to be a major boost for the local economy.
Local artist Victoria Reed was handpicked to create the arches. The sculptures will pay tribute to both Ragbrai and the Cedar Valley's many bike trails.
Traditionally, each host town for the race creates some welcoming artwork.
