The City of Sheldon is one of thirteen recipients of grants from the Wellmark Corporation.
The City of Sheldon is set to receive a $100,000 MATCH, or Matching Assets to Community Health, grant for the Crossroads Park Trail project, which will create a one-mile loop around the Crossroads Park Lake and add one mile to the existing Sheldon Recreational Trail system.
Development Director Curt Strouth says the project is part of the Crossroads Park project in eastern Sheldon.
In addition to the $100,000 grant for the Sheldon Trail, other grants of $100,000 were approved for projects in: the city of Algona; Auburn; Chariton; Creston; Farley; Stanton; West Union; and three grants for three projects in Des Moines. In addition, a $94,300 grant was approved for the Edgewood Board of Economic Development, along with a $25,000 grant for a project in Hills.
