The Mount Pleasant Visioning Committee is asking for the community’s input for potential improvement projects around the city. Mt. Pleasant is one of 10 communities in Iowa selected for the Iowa Living Roadways Community Visioning Program.
A design team visited sites in Mount Pleasant to create a visual plan of potential projects. The design team came up with six potential projects, including roadside plantings along Business Highway 34 and North Broadway, a pedestrian route in an ally between Jefferson Street and Main Street connecting downtown to the Iowa Wesleyan Campus, lighting and restrooms along the trail system, and aesthetic enhancements to the Washington Street and Grand Avenue intersection, and Washington Street in the eastern part of downtown.
