Another former Des Moines councilman will attempt to rejoin the City Council this fall.
Carl Voss, who served as the interim Ward 4 councilman for several months in 2013-14, announced he will run for the at-large council seat this year. That seat is currently held by Councilman Chris Coleman, who hasn’t officially announced he’s running for reelection yet.
So far, only one other candidate, Marco Battaglia, has announced he’ll run for the at-large seat.
Voss said his campaign would focus on improving water quality in the Des Moines and Raccoon rivers; ensuring all city neighborhoods receive adequate resources, including removing blightedhousing; funding youth mental health services; and improving the city’s infrastructure, namely Des Moines’ streets.
