May 17th is the 6th annual Sioux City "Bike-to-Work Day!"
In part of a national effort, the U.S. Department of Transportation encourages the public to leave their car keys at home and take a bike on their way to work.
Many benefits of this include better physical and mental health, a cleaner environment and it just saves commuters money!
Bike-to-Work t-shirts will be sold for $15 at Albrecht Cycle Shop and Hardline Coffee Co., both in downtown Sioux City.
There will be a complimentary commuter breakfast at Albrecht Cycle shop from 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m., plus all day food and drink specials for bicyclist who show their helmets or t-shirts at participating downtown locations.
